Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how webnovellm (the “Service”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our platform.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials, which are processed by our authentication provider.
• User Content. We store the content you create on the Service, including novels, chapters, prompts, and related settings, in order to provide the Service to you.
• Usage Data. We collect limited technical information, such as request logs, for the purposes of operating, securing, and improving the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• Authenticate your access to your account;
• Process your content through the AI features you invoke;
• Monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train machine-learning models.

3. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers to operate, including cloud infrastructure and authentication services, and third-party AI model providers used to generate content at your request. When you use AI features, the content necessary to fulfil your request is transmitted to those providers for processing. API credentials you supply for third-party AI services are stored locally on your device and are not retained on our servers.

4. Analytics

We measure how the Service is used in three ways: our own event counter, which runs on our servers and records a daily count of events such as a page being viewed or a chapter being accepted; Google Analytics, which reports traffic and usage; and Microsoft Clarity, which produces heatmaps and session replays of our public pages so we can see where the design confuses people.

Nothing you write is ever measured. No novel title, premise, prompt, chapter text or story bible entry is sent to any analytics provider. Events carry only names and numbers — which model was used, how many words a chapter ran to, whether a step succeeded. The signed-in area of the Service is additionally masked from Clarity's session replay, so a recording cannot capture your writing even visually.

Google Analytics and Clarity set cookies and may process your IP address to derive an approximate location; Google Analytics is configured to anonymise it. Both are governed by their own privacy policies. Our own counter sets no cookie, records no IP address and no identifier, and aggregates counts as it writes them, so no record of ours describes an individual visit.

Opting out. Visit any page with ?analytics=off appended to the address and this browser will be excluded from Google Analytics and Clarity from then on; ?analytics=on reverses it. We also honour this for our own accounts, so our testing never appears in the data.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure in the United States. We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. Operational logs are retained for a limited period before automatic deletion. Backup copies may persist for a limited period after content is deleted.

7. Your Rights

You may access, export, and delete your data at any time using the tools provided in the Service. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated content.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
